Scholarship Description

The Lance Allan Wyndon Engineering Foundation Scholarship was established in 2022 to honor, Lance Allan Wyndon, one of six Founders of the Fraternal Order of Classy Gentlemen: Sigma Rhomeo Incorporated. Furthermore, he was instrumental in establishing and serving as the inaugural president of the "Antelope Valley & Santa Clarita Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers," which led to the creation of a scholarship in his honor aimed at inspiring students of color to pursue their education at HBCUs (with a focus on STEM) and to successfully graduate. Each year, scholarships ranging from $500 up to $2,000 will be awarded to undergraduate students underrepresented in the S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) fields and pursuing a degree in Engineering at Prairie View A&M University, with a preference for those whose academic focus is related to engineering.

The Lance Allan Wyndon Engineering Foundation (LAWEF) is honored to provide financial assistance through a one-time scholarship to outstanding students pursuing a degree in engineering who are currently enrolled or have received admission to Prairie View A&M University. The scholarship funds granted this year signify the beginning of what we anticipate will evolve into a distinguished recognition for student’s worthy of this accolade. The Lance Allan Wyndon Engineering Foundation (LAWEF) generally has an average of twenty open scholarship opportunities for students to apply for. Eligibility, amounts, and deadlines vary from scholarship to scholarship.
